Forelove

Love For what is love? Why do we love?

Love is what nourishes life. Love is a warm hug from a friend you have not seen in ages. A deeply missed brother and friend. These precious moments - numbered yet finite.

Love is yearning.. Love is getting down on your knees and praying for that special someone. A heavy sigh touches the ground. You toss and turn all night.

Love is in words. It’s warm words for a stranger. Words forged in sincerity. Spoken with all your soul. Please. Thank you. Of course. I got you.

Love is a brief handshake. A tiny brisk word. A gentle force. A genuine smile.

Love is patient. It is turning a blind eye to those that wrong you. Liars who think they got you. It is choosing to forget, despite all you know. Love covers up all offence. God already knows.

Love is embracing pain. It is handing out that last piece of bread. Your choice to be hungry. It’s giving without expectation. Enduring for the sake of others.

Love is sacrifice and forgiveness. Laying down your life. Mockers, haters, deniers, and backstabbers. Friends who forsake you. Loving is choosing them anyways. Forgiving and forgetting it all.

You welcome them with open arms anyways “Come, have breakfast!” In a circle full of laughter.

Just what kind of love is this? This torrential love that overflows all cups. It’s love worth dying for.
